Glass compatibilityRead carefully. Single pane clear, tinted and laminated — fully tempered glass only. Dual pane (IGU) clear and tinted, Low‑E #3 and Low‑E HP #2 — NOT COMPATIBLE. Do not install. A 0% VLT film absorbs almost all the solar energy hitting the glass; on an insulated unit that heat has nowhere to go and you risk thermal fracture and seal failure.

Common questions

Why can’t DS Black i go on dual pane?

It transmits no light, so nearly all the solar energy is absorbed as heat in the glass. In a sealed insulated unit that heat builds up against the airspace and the perimeter seal — the classic recipe for thermal fracture. Avery lists it as Incompatible on every IGU configuration.

Can it go on single pane annealed glass?

No. Avery lists it as tempered/heat-strengthened only, even on single pane.
