Is a safety film the same as security glass?
No. Safety film keeps the glass together after it breaks — it slows an intruder down and stops flying shards. It does not make the glass unbreakable. For forced-entry resistance you also need an attachment system anchoring the film to the frame.
Does the matte finish reduce the safety performance?
No. The 12 mil laminate does the structural work; the matte face is the surface finish.
